Something not working? Most problems have one of the causes below.
The counts or the box do not appear
- Refresh the LinkedIn tab. Chrome only loads a new or updated extension into a page when it reloads.
- Check you are on a job search results page (the address contains /jobs/search).
- If a red notice says LinkedIn changed its page, the extension needs an update. Updates install by themselves, usually within a day.
A badge shows <25 instead of a number
LinkedIn did not give an exact count for that job yet. Click the First In chip in LinkedIn's filter row and press Check at the top of the menu, or open the job.
The box says "pacing the reads"
LinkedIn allows about 20 job pages a minute per account. First In waits rather than go over, so the last counts on a busy page can take up to a minute.
The filters are greyed out
Either the 7-day free trial of the filters has ended (the menu says so, and one payment unlocks them), or your LinkedIn is in a language First In does not read yet. It reads English, French, Spanish and German. Applicant counts work in every language, and stay free.
Promoted or Reposted says "Not known yet"
LinkedIn only shows these on the job's own page. A job moves out of "Not known yet" once you open it.
I paid but the filters are still locked
Go back to the LinkedIn tab and refresh it. If you paid on another browser or reinstalled, click "Already paid? Restore" in the box and enter the email you paid with.
Refunds
Every filter is free to use for 7 days before you pay, so you can try everything you are buying first. For that reason the one-time unlock is final and is not refunded.
