What the extension reads
On LinkedIn job search pages it reads the job cards already on your screen (title line, location line, labels such as "Easy Apply" or "Viewed") and the applicant count of each job. To get a count it requests that job's page from linkedin.com - LinkedIn's public job page first, and your signed-in job page only when the public one gives no exact number. When you press Copy on a job, it requests that job's public page once more to copy its description to your clipboard.
What it stores
In your browser only (Chrome's extension storage):
- the applicant count last read for each job, with the time it was read;
- whether LinkedIn marked that job promoted or reposted;
- your filter settings;
- the times of its own recent requests, to stay under LinkedIn's rate limit.
- the date you first opened a LinkedIn job search with the extension (for the 7-day trial of the filters) and whether the filters are unlocked.
What it sends, and to whom
Nothing about your LinkedIn activity is sent to the developer or to anyone else. The job counts, your filters and your settings never leave your browser. There are no analytics and no advertising.
The extension contacts two sites:
- linkedin.com, to read the job pages described above;
- extensionpay.com, to check whether this installation has unlocked the paid filters and to show the current price. It does this only on LinkedIn job pages, and it sends a random key created by the extension. The key is not linked to your LinkedIn account. Like any web request, this one carries your IP address.
If you buy the unlock
Payment is handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) and its payment processor, Stripe. They receive your email address and your payment details; the developer can see the email address and that a payment was made, never your card. The extension keeps the answer it gets back - whether you have paid, and the email address the payment was made with - in Chrome's extension storage, which Chrome may sync to your other browsers if you have Chrome sync turned on. Your email is used to restore your purchase on another browser and for nothing else.
What it never does
It does not apply to jobs, save or dismiss them, send messages, or change anything in your LinkedIn account. It does not read your profile, your messages or your contacts.
Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored.
If you uninstall it
Chrome opens a page on this site with one optional question: why you removed it. If you choose to answer, your answer, any comment you type and the extension's version number are sent to a Google Form owned by the developer. Nothing else is sent - no email, no LinkedIn data - and nothing at all if you just close the page.
